Collection: Farley's & Sathers
The Rich Tapestry of Farley's & Sathers
When tracing back the roots of the candy industry's giants, Farley's & Sathers Candy Company holds a significant place. Born from the idea of consolidating the strength of multiple candy operations, it initially emerged as Favorite Brands International. One of its earliest and notable achievements was securing Kraft's marshmallow and caramel lines. So, the Jet Puffed marshmallows that you occasionally pick up from the supermarket? They are the brainchild of Farley's & Sathers.
The journey, however, was far from over. The acquisition spree continued with the integration of Sathers Candy and Farley Foods. A deep dive into its history reveals that Farley's candy venture began in 1870. Two decades later, a merger with another Farley-owned candy producer took place. Their product range was vast, from chocolates to fruit slice candies. Meanwhile, Sathers was known for rebagging – they purchased candy in vast quantities and repackaged for retail sales. Interestingly, Farley was their primary supplier, forging a sweet, symbiotic relationship between the two.
The Farley's & Sathers Legacy Continues
With the combined strength of the two, they sought to widen their horizon. The portfolio expanded, enveloping household names like Chuckles, Now and Later, Fruit Stripe Gum, and the Brach's line of unwrapped loose candy. And the sweet empire didn't stop expanding there. They made another significant move by acquiring the North American manufacturing unit of Trolli gummies.
In the vast expanse of the candy industry, Farley's & Sathers remains a beacon of success and evolution. Their diverse range of products and unwavering commitment to quality stands as a testament to their enduring legacy, satisfying the sweet cravings of generations.
